THE APPLICATION OF FUMED SILICA AS AN INTENSIFIER OF FLUX IN SEPARATION OF CH4-CO2 IN NANOCOMPOSITE MEMBRANE

In this article fumed sillica nanoparticle filler was used for increasing the adsorption rate and flux of carbon dioxide and methane in BPPOdp nanocomposite membrane. The diffusion was modeled by Fick’s first equation and for the adsorption phenomenon, Langmuir adsorption isotherm was considered. simulation was studied to solve partial differential equation that was mentioned in the article Simulation results showed acceptable agreement between measured and predicted CO2 flux as 9.07*10-4 mol/m2.s and 8.8*10-4 mol/m2.s (Average Rate of Error of about 2.1%). For CH4 this agreement can be expressed between measured and predicted CH4 flux as 5.95*10-5 mol/m2.s and 5.22*10-5 mol/m2.s (Average Rate of Error of approximately 12%
