THE COMPARISON OF CALCULATED RESULTS OF SIMULATION WITH THE LITERATURE DATA IN CO2-CH4 SEPARATION

Membrane separation is a technology which selectively separates materials via pores and/or minute gaps in the molecular arrangement of a continuous structure. Membrane separations are classified by pore size and by the separation driving force [1]. These classifications are: Microfiltration (MF), Ultra filtration (UF), Ion-Exchange (IE), and Reverse Osmosis (RO). Membrane technology covers all engineering approaches for the transport of substances between two fractions with the help of permeable membranes. In general, mechanical separation processes for separating gaseous or liquid streams use membrane technology [2]. In this article we simulated the separation of carbon dioxide and methane and compared the results of simulation with the data of the literature. The results showed a very good agreement between calculated and predicted results and the maximum ARE was about 10%
