This three-volume text, "Student Guide for CFD - Volumes I through III," is designed to accompany the three-volume text "Computational Fluid Dynamics - Volumes I through III," by Hoffmann and Chiang.  In order to assure continuity, identical chapter numbers are used in this text as in "Computational Fluid Dynamics," where a prefix of SG is added in this text.  Furthermore, when the same equation, previously identified in "Computational Fluid Dynamics", appears in this text, it is identified based on the previous designation.  Numeration of any other equation will include the prefix of SG.  It is noted that chapters in the text "Computational Fluid Dynamics" which do not require computer code development will not be included in this text.  For example, since no major code development is required in Chapters 1,2, or 4 of Vol. I of "Computational Fluid Dynamics," these chapters do not appear in this text.  Therefore, the text "Student Guide for CFD - Volume I" begins with Chapter SG3 and includes Chapter SG5 through SG9.  Similarly, several chapters in Volumes II and III of the "Student Guide for CFD" have been excluded. It is important to emphasize that computer code development is an important aspect of CFD, and, in fact, one learns a great deal about the numerical schemes and their behavior as one develops, debugs, and validates his or her own computer code. Therefore, it is important to state here that the computer codes provided in this text should not be used as an avenue to replace that aspect of CFD, and code development must be an important objective of the learning process

دینامیک سیالات محاسباتی – جلد اول

دوره سه جلدی "راهنمای CFD برای دانشجویان " مکملی برای متن سه جلدی "دینامیک سیالات محاسباتی" نوشته هافمن و چیانگ می‌­باشد. به منظور اطمینان از پیوستگی مطالب، در این متن از شماره فصل­‌هایی مطابق با کتب "دینامیک سیالات محاسباتی"  با یک پیشوند SG استفاده شده است. باید به این نکته اشاره شود که فصولی از کتاب "دینامیک سیالات محاسباتی"  که به توسعه کدهای رایانه‌­ای نیاز ندارند، مانند فصول 1، 2 و 4 فصل اول آن در این کتاب نیامده‌­اند. به همین دلیل کتاب حاضر با فصل SG3 آغاز شده و شامل فصول SG5 و SG9 می­‌گردد. بدیهی است توسعه کدهای کامپیوتری از جنبه‌های مهم CFD بوده و در واقع هرفرد با نوشتن، توسعه و صحت‌سنجی کدهای خود، می­تواند مطالب گسترده و مفیدی در مورد روش­ها و تکنیک­های عددی فرا گیرد. بنابراین توجه به این نکته ضروری است که  استفاده از کدهای کامپیوتری ارائه شده در این متن نباید جایگزین نگارش آنها شده، و توسعه کد توسط خود دانشجو بخش مهمی از فرایند یادگیری وی است.
